Mumbai Indians’ schedule for IPL 2021
Defending champions Mumbai Indians would be raring to win their sixth Indian Premier League trophy in the 2021 season of the cash-rich league.
Led by Indian national cricket team’s vice-captain of the limited overs format, Rohit Sharma, the team is a strong force in the IPL. The core of the squad also includes star all-rounders Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, and Kieron Pollard along with top-order batsmen Quinton de Kock, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav.
The strong power-hitting players are backed up by excellent bowlers in Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Rahul Chahar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Jayant Yadav.
The Mumbai-based franchise once again had an excellent auction signing great back-ups for crucial players. Adam Milne was signed for Rs. 3.2 Crore while Piyush Chawla was bought at a price of Rs. 2.4 crores. The talents of James Neesham, Marco Jansen, Arjun Tendulkar, and Yudvir Charak were signed for their base prices.
The defending champions have already started their quarantine camp in Chennai as they play their first five matches of IPL 2021 on the spin-friendly pitches of Chepauk Stadium. Mumbai play the season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore followed by blockbuster matches against Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings.
After Chennai, the Indians move their base to Delhi where they play an afternoon match against Rajasthan Royals followed by evening matches against Chennai Super Kings, Hyderabad and Rajasthan before traveling to Bengaluru.
The Rohit Sharma-led squad faces the Knight Riders, the Kings, and the Super Kings at the batting-friendly M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Mumbai Indians face Royal Challengers Bangalore at the legendary Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata followed by an afternoon battle against last season’s finalists Delhi Capitals at the same stadium.
