Delhi Capitals: Fixture list for IPL 2021
Delhi Capitals are raring for the Indian Premier League 2021 season as the Shreyas Iyer-led squad would be hoping to help the franchise make it to the playoffs for three years consecutively for the first time in IPL history.
The Capitals have a core of Indian internationals in Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma along with the experienced overseas contingent comprising of Kagiso Rabada, Marcus Stoinis, Anrich Nortje, and Shimron Hetmyer.
The Ricky Ponting coached franchise made some excellent additions in the IPL 2021 auctions as Steve Smith, Chris Woakes, Tom Curran, Sam Billings, and Umesh Yadav were signed for a mere figure that was spent on multiple players by many franchises.
The Delhi Capitals squad has already started quarantine in Mumbai as they play their season opener against three-time champions Chennai Super Kings followed by a couple of matches against the Rajasthan Royals and the Punjab Kings.
The Delhi-based franchise then move base to Chennai and face defending champions Mumbai Indians followed by an intense battle against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Chepauk Stadium.
The Capitals then play Kolkata Knight Riders twice, a return leg against Punjab Kings, and a first meeting of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the newly renovated Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, often referred to as the Motera Stadium.
Delhi play their last five matches of the league season at the legendary Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata where they play Rajasthan, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and an afternoon fixture against Mumbai.
