KKR vs MI; players to watch out in today’s clash
Rohit Sharma led, Mumbai Indians and Eoin Morgan led, Kolkata Knight Riders are ready to lock horns in match 5 at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
While the interesting clash of IPL 2021 is yet to begin, Parimatch News has made a list of players who will be worth watching from both sides.
Mumbai Indians will rely on their star Indian players to get their first victory of the season. MI lost their first match to RCB in a close contest and they will be looking forward to coming back.
Harshal Patel was the top performer of the night from RCB and they will also have the option of South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock who has completed his quarantine and will be available for selection.
Players to watch out for Mumbai Indians
- Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in the history of IPL ever. He was looking in decent form in the last game but a mix up with Chris Lynn ended his innings on 19. The MI skipper will try to scare KKR bowlers with his thrill. He will be amazing to watch today.
- Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya did not bowl in the first match and later Zaheer Khan revealed that he had a shoulder issue. The right-hander hit few solid boundaries but due to the higher asking rate, lost the wicket in serving the cause. He will be a deadly combination if he bowls today and we all know that he is a great finisher.
- Jasprit Bumrah
Talking about MI’s, how can we forget Jasprit Bumrah. Known as ‘Trump Card’ for MI will lead the bowling attack from MI once again. With his amazing capability of Yorkers in the depth over and variation in the attacking overs, he can be a nightmare for the batsman.
Players to watch out for Kolkata Knight Riders
Meanwhile, KKR has won their opening match against SRH on Sunday and they will try to continue their winning streak as they are ready to face off MI in today’s match number 5. Nitish Rana (80 off 56) and Rahul Tripathi (53 off 29) were the top performers from KKR in the last match.
- Nitish Rana
Promotion to the top order has worked amazingly for Nitish Rana as he led KKR innings in the recent match. He scored 80 off just 56 balls following nine fours and four maximums and formed crucial partnerships with Rahul Tripathi and Dinesh Karthik. An aggressor like Rana on the top order will be exciting to watch.
- Dinesh Karthik
The former KKR skipper has been playing a significant role for KKR in the IPL. He has finished several games for KKR as a middle-order batsman and he did the same in the previous match against SRH. Although his T20I strike rate is better than IPL, a role as a finisher will help him improve the IPL record.
- Pat Cummins
The Australian import fell short of expectation last year as he only managed to pick up 12 wickets in 14 matches but a super-performer like him cannot suppress for long. In the recent match against SRH, his fixtures (1-30-4) were the best among all the bowlers. With a deadly weapon such as raw pace and variation, he can catch some big fish tonight.
