AB de Villiers shows his magic, helps RCB to win against DC
On Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore was under immense pressure to win the game against Delhi Capitals as they already lost their last game against Chennai Super Kings. The team showed a great amount of composure & planning to win the game & defeat Delhi by 1 run. Even being in pressure, everyone in the team played their part like an art.
Former South African batsman & RCB’s star wicketkeeper batsman AB de Villiers was the leading man of the show by hitting 75 of 42 balls with three fours & five sixes. The contribution of De Villiers gave RCB a good score of 171/5 in 20 overs. He was awarded man of the match for his performance against DC & became First-Ever Player In IPL History To Bag 25 Man Of The Match Awards.
“The shot over extra cover was certainly one of the best shots, but the one over the mid-wicket off Rabada was my best one. I don’t often get him away but I am happy I did. It is important to be fresh for every match. I worked out at home & during the quarantine in the hotel room & now it’s just about managing ourselves throughout the tournament & being fresh when we go out there to play.”
AB de Villiers said at the post match presentation.
He also appreciated the team’s effort & said
“We have some experienced heads & some young Indian bowlers who have done well internationally recently. They come in with a lot of confidence. Myself, Maxi & Virat chip in some help where we can too. I forced myself to say a bit more behind the stumps, thanks to Yuzi who urged me to do it.”
RCB will collide next with Punjab Kings on Friday in Ahmedabad.
