IPL’s suspension, Rajasthan Royals in profit

RR
Rajasthan Royal’s was suffering due to players opting out of IPL

On Tuesday, a disappointment which came in for IPL fans worldwide is that due current situation of Covid 19 pandemic in India, BCCI has decided to suspend & postpone IPL 2021. This tough decision was taken by the board when several plays from different franchises tested positive for Covid. The bricks started falling down when KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy & Sandeep Warrier tested positive for the disease.

Looking at the point table, it is definitely a blow for teams like RCB, CSK, DC & MI but it is definitely not a worst news for Rajasthan Royals who is currently at the 5th spot in the points table after Mumbai Indians. Although being in the mid-table after the first half isn’t worse, the Men in Pink would be enthralled with the tournament postponed. After all, RR were missing the services of two of their most prominent players this season, Jofra Archer & Ben Stokes. The former was ruled out of the tournament even before the start of the season because of his knee injury & the later had to withdraw from the tournament in middle of it due to the finger injury.

Looking at the current scenario, both the players are likely to recover before the season resumes, at least that is what is expected by the management. Jofra Archer is one of the important all rounders for RR as his previous record in T20 tournaments is impeccable & Stokes undoubtedly is the best all rounder across the globe. Missing these duo was a big blow to Rajasthan but news of IPL postpone has definitely given them some relief.

It should also be noted that Liam Livingstone also left the team in the middle of the league due to fear of a fragile bubble & pandemic situation in the country.
