India names two squads for England T20Is; Arshdeep to be the part of ODIs

With a large number of players available in the T20 World Cup, India has announced two squads for the three-match T20I series against England.

Rohit Sharma, who was named out from the fifth Test due to Covid-19, is back to lead both T20I squads (one for the first game and the remaining for the other two). He will also India in the ODI series as well.

Arshdeep Singh, who impressed everyone with his brilliant performance in the IPL 2022, has been called up for the ODI series. He is also part of the first T20I squad, which includes the whole party that traveled to Ireland.

The members of the Test squad – Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant – have been rested from the first T20I squad.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Rahul Tripathi, Venkatesh Iyer, and Arshdeep will be making ways for other players to be a part of the Indian squad in the second and third T20Is. Deepak Hooda who was phenomenal against Ireland is part of both T20I squads.

Hardik Pandya, who last featured in an ODI in July 2021, is expected to return in the ODIs after leading the T20I squad in Ireland. While Bumrah, Shami and Jadeja who rested in the ODIs against West Indies will return to the squad, Axar Patel as well.

KL Rahul will be missing the series following an injury and there will be no spot for Ruturaj Gaikwad as Shikhar Dhawan covers his spot. Injured Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Ravi Bishnoi, Shahrukh Khan, and Washington Sundar will all be missing out after completing the recent 50-over assignment.
