Mohammad Siraj gets under the fire after a poor display of bowling against GT

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) attacking bowler Mohammad Siraj gets criticized by the commentators for poor display of the bowling. The right-arm pacer has picked up eight wickets in the 10 games but his economy rate in the season has been dreadful.

Rahul Tewatia and David Miller starred for Gujrat Titans as the franchise sealed their eighth victory out of nine matches in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Tewatia has been quite popular for GT as he is playing the finisher role smoothly whenever his side is pushed against the wall and the left-hander made the odds in favor of GT as they beat RCB by six wickets on Saturday.

With GT struggling on 95/4 in 12.5 overs, Miller and Tewatia built a 79-run stand off just 40 balls. For RCB, the bowling unit failed to perform once again and the team paid the price for it.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) attacking bowler Mohammed Siraj gets criticized by the commentators for poor display of the bowling. The right-arm pacer has picked up eight wickets in the 10 games but his economy rate in the season has been dreadful.

Siraj was retained by RCB ahead of IPL mega auction gave too many runs and despite picking up two wickets, he was terrible with his line and lengths.

A lot of things were at stake for the right-arm pacer but he did not live up to the expectations for the franchise. Although, he picked up eight wickets in 10 matches his economy rate of 9.39 has been quite dreadful.

In the 13th over of GT’s chase, Siraj bowled at the pads of Tewatia who played it for a boundary. The delivery left Simon Doull and Mathew Hayden in anger.

“There is one of those boundaries we are talking about towards the short side of the ground. A U-12 cricketer could have played this away to the ground,”

said the former Australian opener.

The former New Zealand skipper could also not stop him from criticizing the delivery.

“Some brainless cricket. I gotta say, I have seen a little bit of it in the last couple of overs from our commentary box end. Use the big size of the ground, take pace off it, go across the left-handers, stop bowling down that middle, middle, and leg stump line and help yourself to the short side boundary stuff,”

said Doull while on air.

In the next few balls, Siraj finally made his radar right and did what the New Zealander was asking him to do in the commentary box.

“Thank you. Two balls in a row,”

the New Zealander expressed his relief.

The defeat left RCB in an unstable situation. They are standing on the fifth spot of the points table but have played two games more than the sixth-placed DC and a game more than seventh-placed PBKS both of whom are on eight points, two points behind RCB.
