Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin is an Indian cricketer who represents the county at the international level. He plays first-class cricket for Tamil Nadu at the domestic level and represents Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League.
Ashwin is one of the best Indian pace bowlers and popularly known for spinning the ball both ways. He is also known for his leg spinners and carom ball. These things don’t make him one of the best bowlers in India but the world.
He was an opening batsman under 17’s but replaced with Rohit Sharma due to lack of form. After that, Ashwin started his career as a fast bowler and soon changed into a spin bowler. Ravichandran played his debut IPL match for Chennai Super Kings in 2009.
With the franchise, he went on to win two consecutive IPL titles in 2010 and 2011. In 2016, due to a ban on CSK, Ashwin played for Rising Pune Supergiants but missed IPL 2017 due to a sports hernia. In 2018, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab for a whopping amount of INR 7.6 crores.
Ashwin was born on 17 September 1986 in Tamil Nadu. His father, Ravichandran, played as a fast bowler at the club level. Ashwin tied the knot with his childhood friend Prithi Narayanan on 13 November 2011.
