Sunrisers Hyderabad sign Jason Roy as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh
Sunrisers Hyderabad has roped in Jason Roy as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh who has deemed himself unavailable for the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League.
The English batsman is expected to open the innings for the Sunrisers in IPL 2021 whenever he features in the playing XI with injury concerns questioning the availability of the Hyderabad skipper David Warner.
Mitchell Marsh has deemed himself unavailable for the upcoming IPL season citing his inability to stay in bio-secure bubbles for long periods of time.
Roy made his IPL debut in 2017 for Gujarat Lions but had to leave for the England Ireland series after playing only three matches for the Gujarat-based team.
In the 2018 season of the IPL, Roy was signed by Delhi Daredevils and the English opener played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 91 runs to help Delhi win the match on his debut for the franchise.
Sunrisers have signed the 30-year old opening batsman for his base price of INR 2 Crores.
