Paris Saint-Germain News & Current Form:

PSG have undoubtedly pulled off the biggest transfer of recent years by signing Lionel Messi this summer for free. The Argentine is still getting fit and is not showing anything outstanding, but even without him, the French club have no problems in the league.

After eight rounds, the Red and Blues top the table with 24 points and have already managed to make a considerable gap with their rivals – second-placed RC Lens are nine points behind.

However, lads of Mauricio Pochettino failed to start with a win in the Champions League. In the away game against Brugge, PSG were considered to be the clear favourites to beat the Belgian champions, but they failed to do so.

The hosts managed to get back into the game after conceding a goal and looked very decent, holding on to a 1-1 draw. This result could definitely be described as a sensation, given the huge difference in class between the opponents.
