Leipzig entered the new season in a completely renewed form, as Julian Nagelsmann, under whose guidance the Bulls had made significant progress in recent years, left the team in the summer. Jesse Marsch, who replaced him, immediately faced the problem – he had to rebuild the center of defense after key Ibrahima Konate and Dayo Upamekano left.

It is obvious that such serious changes could not go unnoticed – Leipzig have lost points in the first round, losing 0-1 away to Mainz. Stuttgart, weakened by the loss of their key players, were unable to put up any resistance to the Bulls in the second tour as they lost 0-4 at the Red Bull Arena. 

However, after that, Leipzig lost 0-1 on the road against Wolfsburg and slipped down to 10th place in the table.

Bayern Munich News & Current Form:

FC Bayern also parted ways with the head coach, whose name was associated with the success of the club in recent years. Hans-Dieter Flick‘s replacement, Julian Nagelsmann, received a major reinforcement in defense, although the Bavarians’ squad as a whole is definitely the strongest in the Bundesliga even without the new transfers.

Nagelsmann’s first start at the helm was not very successful for Bayern – in the first leg the Munich club hardly managed to get one point in Mönchengladbach against Borussia Dortmund (1-1). The 3-2 victory over Köln in the second tour was also unconvincing: the Goats managed two score back 2 goals in the course of the meeting and looked very solid.

Nevertheless, Bayern have already managed to win their first trophy of the season: they beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the Super Cup. The last tour in Bundesliga for the German champion was also successful. Bayern defeated Hertha 5-0 to take third place in the table.

Notably, the Bavarians not only poached RB Leipzig’s head coach but also their captain, Marcel Sabitzer.

Bayern has some problems with the squad: Benjamin Pavard, Dayo Upamecano, Luca Hernandez and Alphonso Davies will miss the game. Possibly, Thomas Muller won’t be able to play either.

Another question is whether Leipzig will be able to take advantage of their opponents’ difficulties. With such finishing, as in the matches against Mainz and Wolfsburg, it will not be so easy to do.

It would be better to refrain from betting on the outcome, though. The national team matches took place literally a couple of days ago, not all players of Bayern and Leipzig will be in top form. We do not expect a productive game.

A good bet would be to wager on a minimum draw.
