Usman Khawaja believes that Pakistan-India should play a bilateral series against each other and he thinks cricket is the only thing that can bring two nations together.
Australian batsman, Usman Khawaja believes that Pakistan and India should play cricket series against each other. Both nations have had a long history.
He hopes that these two nations will play the series in the future and the world is missing the cricket games between the two countries.
India and Pakistan have last played their bilateral series in 2013 and otherwise, they only played against each other in ICC events.
Cricket games are not being played between these two nations due to political reasons.
In 2014, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that they had contracted with the BCCI for the 6 mutual series.
But BCCI did not proceed further as the government of India had not granted the permission.
Australian star performer, Usman Khawaja, recently shared his thoughts and claimed that he misses the cricket matches between Pakistan and India.
He feels disappointed that India and Pakistan have stopped playing against each other.
Both two Cricket boards have no issue but the Indian government has not allowed the Indian board to play with Pakistan.
Khawaja said that he had a chat with the people in ICC regarding this matter. He thinks cricket is the only thing that can bring the two nations together.
“The thing I miss most about international cricket is India versus Pakistan matches. I hate that it doesn’t happen anymore. It’s the biggest thing that cricket is missing & it will be amazing if we can get those two countries to play again,”
Khawaja said.
He also highlighted the moment when Virat Kohli gave his bat to Mohammed Amir in the 2016 T20I World Cup.
Both two countries are cricket-loving nations. So their boards should proceed with each other to play a cricket series.
India and Pakistan have met each other in the 2019 World Cup and now will play against each other in the upcoming T20I World Cup.
Both will play their first match against each other in the mega event on October 24.
Pakistan has a very good record against India in the bilateral series and won more games in Test and ODI’s.
However, Pakistan’s performance in the ICC mega-events against India is not very well and men in green always look in trouble in the ICC events.
