Pakistan beats West Indies by seven wickets in the warm-up match of T20 WC

Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman stars as Pakistan beats West Indies by seven wickets in their first warm-up match at Dubai on Monday.

Pakistan chased down the below-par total of 131 in 15.3 overs, courtesy of Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman for their solid knocks.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam scored 50 off 41 balls while Fakhar played an unbeatable knock of 46 off 24 balls.

Shoaib Malik scored an unbeaten 14 off 11 and Mohammed Rizwan scored a 17-ball 13.

Earlier, West Indies, who played their full strength team have won the toss and opted to bat first.

Pakistan bowlers did a fine job in the first half of the WI innings after maintaining a strict line and length, which restricted their opponents to 44/2.

However, West Indians came back in the second half of the innings to score 86 runs in the latter half.

Middle-order batter Shimron Hetmyer was the highest run-scorer after scoring 28 off 24 balls.

West Indian skipper Kieron Pollard hit five consecutive boundaries in the last over of Haris Rauf to help his side post a competitive target. The power-hitter added a cameo of 23 off 10 balls.

For Pakistan, the spinners sealed the show with Mohammad Hafeez, Imad Wasim, and Shadab Khan conceding only 3.25 runs in the eight overs. However, Imad Wasim was the only spinner to claim a wicket.

Shaheen Afridi although picked up two wickets but he was the expensive bowler after conceding 41 runs in his four overs.Hassan Ali was impressive with his slower balls and he ended on the fixtures of 21/2 in four overs. Haris Rauf also picked up two wickets while getting 32 runs in his four overs.
