Babar, Rashid, Livingstone in the retention list of PSL 2022, and the remaining picks

Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Peshawar Zalmi were the four franchises who utilized their full quota of eight retentions while Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators retained seven players each.
Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Peshawar Zalmi were the four franchises who maximized their full quota of eight retentions while Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators retained seven players apiece as the retention, trade, and release window of PSL 2022 closed on Friday (December 10).
It will be the first time in PSL that each franchise will be allowed one right-to-match card each during the PSL 2022 draft on December 12.
Pakistan all format skipper Babar Azam and Imad Wasim were the Platinum category retentions for Karachi Kings while Lahore Qalandars retained Afghanistan legspinner Rashid Khan and Shaheen Afridi in the Platinum category.
2019 champions Quetta Gladiators, who traded James Vince (Platinum), Shahid Afridi, and Iftikhar Ahmed in the trading window, retained Sarfaraz Ahmed as the other Platinum player.
It will be Shahid Afridi’s farewell season in the PSL for Quetta Gladiators, with the veteran all-rounder moving from Sultans.
Current PSL title holders Sultans retained Mohammad Rizwan and Rilee Rossouw in the Platinum category while two-time champions Islamabad United traded Azam Khan, retained Asif Ali, and promoted him as a Platinum player.
Hasan Ali is the other Platinum retention for the IU. Peshawar Zalmi went for Liam Livingstone and Wahab Riaz as Platinum retentions.
As per the PSL rules, each franchise can have up to 18 players in their squad, including three each in Platinum, Diamond, and Gold categories, five Silver, two Emerging, and up to two Supplementary categories.
