Gautam Gambhir appointed mentor of IPL Lucknow franchise ahead of 2022 season
The Former Indian player Gautam Gambhir has been named as the mentor of the new IPL franchise Lucknow for the 2022 season while his teammate Vijay Dahiya was appointed as the assistant coach.
Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as a mentor of the new IPL franchise Lucknow in the 2022 season.
The southpaw, who is also part of the parliament, had led the KKR in the IPL and won two IPL titles for the KKR in 2012 and 2014.
He had played IPL for 10 seasons in which 8 of them were played for KKR. The new IPL franchise Lucknow had appointed former Zimbabwe skipper Andy Flower as the head coach of the franchise.

Gambhir said in a statement.
Along with Gambhir, his teammate Vijay Dahiya has also connected the franchise. The former player is predicted to join as the assistant coach of the franchise.
The owner of the yet-to-be-named franchise, Sanjiv Goenka welcomed Gambhir into the RPSG family.
“Gautam has an impeccable career record. I respect his cricketing mind and look forward to working with him,”
he said.
Gautam Gambhir had played 58 Tests, 147 ODIs, and 37 T20Is for India. He ended his cricket career in 2018 and took retirement across all the formats of the game. After that, he moved towards the politician.
