Serie A 2021-22: Juventus vs AC Milan. Prediction and Preview. Probable Lineups, Team News, Stats and more

Juventus AC Milan
Two of Italian football's most titled clubs have one of the fiercest rivalries in the country due to their success and competition

The central match of Serie A Week 4 will be held on Sunday night in Turin, kick-off – 00:15 IST.

Perhaps the most exciting encounter of the entire European football weekend will take place on September 19. Juventus will take on rival AC Milan at home at the Allianz Stadium.

Who will be stronger – the Bianconeri or the Rossoneri? We’ll tell you everything you need to know before the match.

Juventus News & Current Form:

In the first three tours, Juventus are winless: a 2-2 draw with Udinese and two losses, 0-1 to Empoli and 1-2 to Napoli.

Such an unimpressive start to the league season is easy to explain – the Bianconeri do not feel victorious as of yet. Massimo Allegri, now back in charge, has begun to build his own style of football from the outset, where the most important thing is game balance. However, the team have failed to maintain consistency in defending, and without that, Allegri’s approach is ineffective. The poor play of Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny and his mistakes are only the tip of the iceberg.

Perhaps the result of Tuesday’s Champions League encounter, which saw Juventus beat Sweden’s Malmö 3-0 on the road, will help them regain some confidence ahead of the derby. Alex Sandro, Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata scored in the first half. And what is most important is that the Bianconeri finally managed to avoid conceding a goal.

AC Milan News & Current Form:

Milan, meanwhile, remains one of only three teams that have not yet lost points this season. Unlike Juventus, the Rossoneri have made a very strong start to the season and generally were delighting their fans with their play so far.

Last game they beat Lazio 2-0 at the San Siro with surprising ease. One of the goals was scored by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, the Swede is not likely to appear in Turin due to a minor injury. At the end of August, Milan scored all 6 points against Sampdoria and Cagliari.

In the middle of the week, AC Milan returned to the Champions League. Stefano Pioli’s team came to Anfield to face Liverpool. The Brits managed to open the scoring at the beginning of the game and it could have been 2-0 – but in the 13th minute, Mohamed Salah missed a penalty. Despite a lackluster start, the Milan side managed to turn the game around – before the break, the Italians scored twice thanks to the efforts of Rebic and Diaz. However, Liverpool overpowered their opponents in the second half, scored two goals and won (3-2). Still, the Rossoneri certainly left a positive impression.

At the moment, the visitors look noticeably better than the Old Signora, who in recent matches in Italy have been simply suffering on the field. The Rossoneri have a good chance of picking up points in Turin – they are now full of confidence and courage. We don’t expect a lot of goals in this match, by and large, it will be more of a tactical and accurate fight.
