It became clear that Ronaldo is ‘allergic’ to substitutions after Pirlo replaced him despite 2 scored goals

Ronaldo can’t understand why Pirlo decided to substitute him

Juventus defeated Inter (2-1) in the first leg of the Italian Cup semi-final. The second leg will be in Turin on February 9, with a 2-1 away lead under their belts.

Lautaro Martinez scored an opener in the ninth minute. But Juventus managed to equalize and to take advantage right in the first half, it took only 10 minutes for Cristiano Ronaldo to change the situation. Despite his great impact, he was substituted in the 76th minute.

That’s how the Portuguese reacted to the substitution:

“Ronaldo had an excellent game and showed just how good he is. I understand that Ronaldo wasn’t happy at being substituted, but it was only right to rest him for the upcoming Serie A game, even if just a few minutes. He could not have answered his critics in a better way than he did tonight”.

Andrea said about his decision to replace Ronaldo with Morata.

Pirlo comments on the victory in the first leg:

“We weren’t ourselves when we played Inter in the league but we learnt from it. We all pulled together after that and our Super Cup win made us realize we can compete on all fronts. However, we haven’t done anything yet – we’ve only won the first round. We prepared for this game well and when we maintain our focus and play with the right attitude”.

Don`t miss out 💥: Pirlo says Juventus know Antonio Conte ‘very well’ ahead of the Italian Cup semi-finals on Tuesday.

Here’s what Inter’s head coach thinks:

“Basically, we did everything ourselves. The performance was excellent, it was just the result that was negative. We had Juve on the ropes, it’s really disappointing, because we deserved much, much, much more than the final result. Juventus barely created anything and I don’t remember Samir Handanovic making saves. If we hadn’t made those two mistakes… I respect all judgment, but the fact is if we had won this game 2-0, nobody would’ve complained. The final result is what clouds the judgment of the overall performance”.

  • Gianluigi Buffon, the aged Bianconeri goalkeeper, played his 1,100th career game. The 43-year-old played 679 games for Juve. He played 220 games for Parma, 25 for PSG and 176 for Italy.
  • Juventus have won the first leg semi-final of the Coppa Italia on four of their last five occasions.
  • CR7 has netted 6 goals in 8 matches at Meazza stadium in all comps with Juventus.
