ек
The tournament will see a whole host of stars

The best of the best have gathered in Qatar to contend for the main football trophy. Coaches of many national teams had to make tough decisions to select the country’s best 26 players and give them a big chance to be the representatives of their country’s colours. Below, Parimatch News will not only present the squads of all 32 participating teams but also reveal the entire Mundial schedule along with a bunch of curious facts to know.

For sure, the tournament participants will give their all to grab the most-coveted golden trophy, every player will play for their flag and fans. But alongside this, the prize money will also serve as a great motivator, especially for not-so-wealthy teams. The fact is that every successful step taken by a team literally increases the size of the piece of “Prize Cake” that they can count on at the end of the event.

The prize pool for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar now stands at a sensational $440 million. This will be shared between 32 teams, with each national side set to receive $1.5 million just for preparations for the Mundial and $9 million for participation in the World Cup group tournament.

The bar for the next WC will be raised just above the clouds as Qatar are keen to uphold the highest standards of unprecedented excellence.

For the first time, the ultimate winner will receive a stunning amount of money – $42 million, which is roughly $1.61 in the pockets of every gold medal recipient.

The 2nd place team will get $30 million. 3rd place will get $27 million, 4th place will get $25 million, while 5th-8th places can count on $17 million per team, and 9th-16th places will get $13 million each.

Moreover, FIFA has allocated another $209 million as compensation to clubs which had to send their lads to take part in the Mundial. Just to recap, all the major club leagues have been put on pause to give their players a chance to participate in the contest for the Coupe du Monde.

So adding everything up, the overall amount of payments for the World Cup in 2022 in Qatar will be about $1 billion. You can compare how much the level of organization of the Championships has evolved over the past 20 years. It is not for nothing that the Mundial is the main long-awaited soccer event.

The total amount of allocated money for distribution at the latest World Cup editions:

Qatar 2022$1000m
France 2018$791m
Russia 2014$576m

The most modestly estimated squad – Qatar national team. The host team is valued at only $14.9 million. But such a status of underdog only frees the tournament hosts from excessive expectations and pressure, making every tiny success a true feast.

Fortunately for Qatar, they don’t have the most difficult group. In fact, their chances of getting out of the group from 2nd place are not as low as they could be, even though any sophisticated fan can immediately identify the obvious potential leader in each quartet.

Which team has the best chance to win? Well, for Qatar the chances are really slim – only a 0.3 % possibility that they can reach the final. Meanwhile, Brazil is considered the most dangerous team at the World Cup.

Below you can find out whether your favourite team has any viable chance to go all the way:
