Eintracht Frankfurt will meet Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga opening match at the Deutsche Bank Park. The fixture will take place on August 6, beginning at 00:00 IST.

The football season is about to begin and we are in for a very interesting match between a feisty attacking team and a true Bundesliga hegemon. The calendar at the start of the season has played a cruel trick on Eintracht. The team begins the new 22/23 campaign with three official matches in 10 days, and the first match against Bayern is by no means the most important one. Five days from now, the Eagles will face Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup. Certainly, Oliver Glasner will try to save his main efforts for it. However, don’t expect Die Adler to give up a fight, these guys are capable of stunning any team, no matter of the status and balance of forces.

Parimatchnews will tell you everything you need to know ahead of the upcoming match.

Eintracht Frankfurt News & Current Form:

Last season, Eintracht, due to the limited resources of their squad, could not sit on two chairs at once: in the German championship, the team finished only in 11th position in the standings.

However, the Eagles compensated their failure in the domestic arena with a superb performance in the Europe. A sensational success in the Europa League last season allowed them to qualify for the Champions League, where Germany will have five teams this year. The most unexpected result was Eintracht’s win over Barcelona in the UEL quarterfinals, and the decisive game should be noted as well. The Germans being in status of underfogs managed to overcome Rangers in the penalty shoot-out.

The trophy has provided the club with additional funds to strengthen their squad and save main stars. However, for now the transfer campaign is relatively quiet, with the most notable moves being the promising AC Milan winger Jens Petter Hauge and the experienced Mario Götze, author of the golden goal in the 2014 World Cup final who had a solid career in the Bundesliga.

In preparation for the new season, Eintracht played some good friendlies, winning three times and drawing once. The club also played their German Cup 1/32 finals, where they easily crushed Magdeburg 4-0. The game was all but decided in the first half, but Glasner still forced Filip Kostic, Daichi Kamada and Djibril Sow to complete the match. Maybe he really believes that the leaders are ready for such loads at the start of the season.

Next week, meanwhile, Oliver Glasner`s men are set to face Real Madrid in the match for UEFA Super Cup. It is an important event for a relatively modest club by European standards. But, right now, all the Eagles’ thoughts are focused on their Bundesliga start. In the first round, Eintracht will take on the powerful Bayern, a match that will be a direct test of strength before another potential trophy.

Bayern Munich News & Current Form:

The Munich club enjoyed a successful start to their second season under Julian Nagelsmann, winning the German Super Cup – as they had done the year before. Incidentally, the Reds were destined to play against Nagelsmann’s previous club, RB Leipzig. In the first half, Bayern demonstrated excellent efficiency and prevailed 3-0, while in the closing stages of the second half the opponents almost managed to level the score, but the champions have tightend their grip and finished the match 5-3.

At the time, Bayern have already won ten consecutive championships. That’s more than any other club in German history since 1903! It is unlikely that the Munich side are going to stop there and not go for their 11th title in a row, which should be the first since the end of the Robert Lewandowski era. The Polish forward will now look to bring trophies to Barcelona.

But they won’t miss Robert for long, with the Reds having a well-coordinated transfer campaign this summer. The Germans also got rid of Marc Roja, Corentin Tolisso, Niklas Sule, Omar Richards, Chris Richards and Malik Tillman. The nearly €40m raised for this whole party was immediately reinvested.

The Bavarians’ two main acquisitions would do honour to any top club. Sadio Mane in attack and Matteijs de Ligt in defence is a solid list already, especially for a Bayern`s management that does not like to throw money around. Nagelsmann also secured two talents from Ajax: Gravenberch and Mazraoui. They did not even have to spend much money on them, and both could be useful. The same cannot be said about Mathys Tel so far. Certainly, the talented forward from Rennes is too young and it was risky to give €20m for him.

In contrast to Frankfurt, Bayern have a more gradual schedule at the start and there is no need to save energy. The last three games at Eintracht have been shaky, with Bayern scoring just one goal per game and winning only once. Nagelsmann’s side will be looking to start the season on a major note.

What has been said before the match:

“Playing at Frankfurt isn’t easy. The crowd will be right behind them, especially after the Europa League win. The fans are exalted, Oli Glasner is an excellent coach and the team are really well attuned.”

“I’m full of anticipation for kick-off. Frankfurt are a good team with a very passionate crowd. Friday night, Bundesliga opening match, is a special moment for both, so it’s going to be a very exciting game.”

Oliver Glasner, the Eintracht Frankfurt gaffer:

“First and foremost it’s about our own performance. We want to occupy Bayern and move them around. I think Bayern will have their noses in front over the course of the season again, because they have a really great team. However, we won’t be raising the white flag, but will do all we can to start the season with a win. In one match it’s always possible to win, against any team in the world.”

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich Prediction:

Eintracht have a very important match coming up – the battle against Real Madrid for the UEFA Super Cup. It is much more important now to prepare physically than to clinch points against title-contender Bayern. For their part, Munich have lost Robert Lewandowski, but their attacking power has not diminished. The visitors are likely to score plenty of goals in these set-up.

Parimatch News staff prediction:

We say: the intividual total of Bayern Munich over 2.5 – Yes.
