Gaimin Gladiators crowned Champions of Dota 2 Lima Major 2023
The first Dota 2 major in South America has concluded in Lima, with Gaimin Gladiators emerging victorious in a commanding display against Team Liquid in the finals.
After an impressive game in 2022, which saw them perform incredibly well at the 2022 Stockholm Major and 2022 TI, Gaimin Gladiators established themselves as the players to watch out for in the coming years.
Heading into the 2023 Lima Major, the young team from Western Europe entered as runners-up to Team Liquid. During the Group Stage of the Major, Gaimin Gladiators topped the charts by bringing their A-game this time as well!
What is the Lima Major Dota 2023?
The 2023 Dota Pro Circuit season kicked off with the Lima Major 2023, which is the inaugural DPC Major held in South America.
The City of Kings played host to 18 teams from six regions who battled it out for the championship title, along with a significant prize pool and 1900 valuable DPC points ready for the taking.
DPC points are essential for any team’s qualification as they compete for The International 2023 and only 12 of the teams will be invited to this premier event.
Format for the Lima Major
The Lima Major 2023 tournament consists of 2 main parts: the group stage and the playoffs.
The group stage was from the 22nd to the 26th of February and the playoffs were from March 1st to the 6th
The 18 participating teams are divided into two groups and play a round-robin format of best-of-two matches to determine their final standings in the tournament.
