Earlier today, Quetta Gladiators won the toss and opted to ball first following the trend that has been successful so far in the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Shan Masood, who has earned the player of the match award with his tremendous effort of scoring 88 runs from 58 deliveries; that was followed by 6 boundaries and 4 maximums.

Despite the in-form skipper Mohammad Rizwan going back to the pavilion earlier, Masood took the charge with the support of Sohaib Maqsood (21), Rilee Rossouw (21), and Tim David (28) from the other end.

Mohammad Hasnain picked up two wickets from Multan while James Faulkner took a single wicket to restrict Sultans to 174 for 4 after 20 overs.

While chasing, Quetta found it a little difficult as they did not get a good start and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Will Smeed (3) was the first victim of Multan as Khushdil Shah struck with his authority on the match – he ended up with the brilliant figures of 3-16 from his four overs.

Ahsan Ali departed after putting in an effort of 24 runs while Ben Duckett took charge and added some crucial runs but he departed just short of four runs before completing his half-century.

Gladiators were struggling at 6-108, Iftikhar Ahmed stepped into the crease and helped them smash 24 runs in the 17th over to push Gladiators close to the victory.

Iftikhar made his impact short after making a quick-fire 30 from 13 balls before David Willey claimed his wicket.

The Englishman bowled a fantastic spell of four overs to restrict Quetta Gladiators before finally claiming the last wicket as he defended 8 runs off the last over.

Khushdil Shah, David Willey, and Imran Tahir all picked up three wickets each.
