The stand-in skipper for India against the Sri Lanka series, Shikhar Dhawan has lauded Suryakumar Yadav’s batting performance and he predicts that the right-hander will shine across all three formats.

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan on Saturday said that the young-gun and talented, Suryakumar Yadav will be in good touch after his great one-day performance against Sri Lanka.

Yadav was also a man of the series for his outstanding performance as India secured the series by 2-1 in Colombo. He scored 31* in his first debut match and 53 in the first two matches and then scored 40 in the last match but unfortunately, India couldn’t win the match.

Dhawan suggests that the young batsmen may travel to England after the tour of Sri Lanka.

“Surya is batting well in ODIs and T20s and he has such a vast experience,”

said Dhawan, captain of India’s limited-overs team in Sri Lanka

“He is a very mature player and if he gets a chance and selectors think he can play in the Test team and surely he is a very smart and technical batsman. I am sure he will do very well in any format.”

“Like we won the first two matches to seal the series and were then able to give youngsters a chance, so we will field the best XI in the first two T20 matches and then be in a position to experiment in the final game,”

said Dhawan.

Dhawan felt that Yadav has great experience in domestic cricket and now he is ready to play the longer format of the game.

Dhawan said he will look to see himself perform well in the T20 world cup.

“Whenever you perform internationally it makes a huge impact,”

said the left-handed opener.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav is looking forward to perform in the remaining matches against Sri Lanka to make his place stronger for the upcoming T20I World Cup in UAE and Oman.
