Pakistan to host England, New Zealand in November-December
After their last-minute canceled tours from Pakistan, last season. New Zealand and England have announced their tours of Pakistan between November 2022 and January next year announced by PCB’s full-year schedule for their national side on Friday.
England and New Zealand had previously canceled their tours of Pakistan at the last-minute citing security threats but now both the Boards have announced their tours of Pakistan between November 2022 and January next year confirmed by PCB’s full-year schedule for their national side on Friday.
Pakistan men’s team is scheduled to play seven ICC World Championship Tests in the 2022-23 home season – against Sri Lanka (2), England (3), and New Zealand (2) – while the 12 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League matches will be versus West Indies, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and New Zealand (three each).
The men in green are set to host the West Indian team for the three-match ODI series in Rawalpindi from June 5-12.
England will be visiting the country for the seven-match T20I series in September-October before returning in November for the three-Test match series. New Zealand will come right after that for the two-Test matches and three ODIs, before coming back for another five-match ODI as well as T20Is in April.
Pakistan men will then feature in the ACC Asia Cup for the shortest format in August-September and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia 2022 from October 15 to November 15.
Simultaneously, the Pakistan Women Cricket team also has a jam-packed 12 months ahead following the ICC Women’s ODI Championship 2022-25 games, the U19 and senior T20 World Cups in South Africa, Birmingham Commonwealth Games, and 19th Asian Games in Guangzhou, and the Asia Cup (T20 format) which is scheduled in Sri Lanka.
The women’s side will feature in three IWC series – against Sri Lanka, Ireland (both home), and Australia (away). Additionally, they will also take on Ireland and Australia in a triangular T20I series in Belfast in the lead-up to the Birmingham Games.
The details and schedule of the 2022-23 domestic season are yet to be announced yet.
