Washington Sundar has missed plenty of opportunities of late for India due to injuries

While the Indian cricket team has received a huge boost in the form of KL Rahul who will be captaining them in the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe, wherein they will play three one-day internationals, the team will be struggling over the fitness of their spin bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar, who is currently injured.

The spin bowling all-rounder has reportedly sustained an injury to his left shoulder while playing for Lancashire send English county on August 10, in the Royal London one-day match against Worcestershire.

After landing awkwardly on his left side, Washington Sundar reportedly left the field with his other hand on the injured shoulder which also ruled him out of a match completely.

The young cricketer, who was a part of India’s memorable test series victory in Australia early last year, was hoping to join the Indian team in Zimbabwe after playing one last game for Lancashire on Sunday, for which he was eventually ruled out.

The latest injury to the lanky all-rounder is yet another setback in his fledgling career for India after he had missed T20 international at home against the West Indies and Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury while he had hurt his webbing during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 tournament playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

And before all of this, Washington Sundar had missed India’s tour of South Africa in January 2022 after testing positive for the coronavirus. He had also missed the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament for his home side Tamil Nadu.
