Peshawar Zalmi is playing without Haider Ali and Umaid Asif in the ongoing PSL Final on Thursday after they were seen breaching bio-secure bubble protocol by meeting with outside people and not maintaining social distance.

Umaid Asif has so far appeared in nine games for Peshawar Zalmi and picked up nine wickets throughout the way. While Haider Ali has so far scored 166 runs for Peshawar Zalmi including a half-century.

As announced by PCB management, the incident happened on Wednesday, and the decision to suspend both the players was taken on Thursday morning by the Covid-19 management panel of PSL.

The release also mentioned that the players have not come closer to any staff members and team players after the breach and they have been placed in a separate room for isolation.

Another big news is that Haider Ali has been withdrawn from the upcoming tours of England and West Indies and Sohaib Maqsood who is in the middle of a fine PSL season, has been announced as a replacement.

“The two cricketers were found not to have interacted with any other squad members at any time after the incident and have been placed in room isolation,”

the PCB statement said.

“Sohaib has had a stellar PSL season, in which he has to date scored 363 runs in 11 matches with an average of 40.33 and strike rate of just under 153. He has represented Pakistan in 26 ODIs and two T20Is, with his last T20I appearance being against New Zealand in Hamilton in January 2016,”

the PCB said.
