Nishu Kumar started his footballing journey with Chandigarh Football Academy. He signed for Bengaluru FC in 2015 and was retained by the club ahead of the Hero ISL 2017-18 draft in the young players’ category. After helping his side win the Hero Super Cup, the young full-back played a pivotal role in helping the Blues to their first Hero ISL title in the 2018-19 season. His stellar performances saw him earn a national team call-up as he made his India debut in a friendly against Jordan. Nishu moved to Kerala Blasters FC ahead of the 2020-21 Hero ISL campaign.
