Naorem Mahesh Singh started his career in his home state with Birchandra Memorial Sporting Club in Manipur. He soon joined the youth side of Shillong Lajong FC and prior to the 2018–19 season, Singh was promoted to the first-team and made his professional debut for Shillong Lajong FC in 2018. He scored a brace on his debut, as Shillong Lajong won 2–1. The forward signed for Kerala Blasters FC ahead of the 2020-21 Hero ISL season.
