E-payment company PhonePe to be the part of IPL 2021
As the new IPL season is about to begin, the race of sponsorships is on & with a lot of big names trying to associate themselves with big franchises, it looks like IPL 2021 is going to be really exciting. In this race, digital payments platform PhonePe is making names for itself by taking up six different sponsorships for this year’s edition. PhonePe on Thursday said that it has taken six different sponsorships for IPL 2021 & is an official co-presenting sponsor for broadcast on Star Sports network.
Additionally, the company will also be sponsoring four IPL franchises this season – Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals.

“We are kicking off our most aggressive national marketing campaign ever, starting with IPL 2021 next month. We have invested even more heavily on IPL this year, taking up 6 different sponsorships. As the category leader, it is our vision as well as our ambition to bring digital payments to every Indian household. Our aggressive marketing efforts are in line with this strategic priority.”
This is Phonepe’s biggest ever marketing push, its marketing interventions will run through the year focusing on the upcoming IPL season. The focus will be to expand the user base from 280 million currently to 500 million by December 2022, and drive preference for PhonePe among millions of new-to-digital users, it said.
PhonePe is one of the largest Indian digital wallet platforms and online payment company headquartered in Bangalore, India. PhonePe is licensed by the Reserve bank of India for issuance and operation of a Semi Closed Prepaid Payment system with Authorization Number: 75/2014 dated 22 August 2014.
