Real Madrid will host Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu on the 29th Matchday of La Liga. The match will take place on March 21, beginning at 01:00 IST.

The 29th round of the Spanish Primera will bring the fans another long-awaited bright face-off between the two biggest clubs in Spain – Real Madrid and Barcelona.

This will clearly not be the most intriguing El Clasico in recent years due to the divergence of the opponents’ situations. The teams are now separated by more than ten points in the standings, and the Catalans are unlikely to reduce the gap in the remaining rounds, although they are on a great run.

At the moment the Blugrana have one objective – to get into the top four to ensure their participation in the Champions League next season.

The Los Blancos, on the other hand, have the pleasing opportunity to eliminate the club of Xavi Hernandez even the slightest chance of the title, and after that the title will practically be in the pocket, given that the main pursuer at the moment, Sevilla, loses points over and over again.

One way or another, despite the different tasks and situations, such matches are always spectacular and enterntaining – emotions will be high. Fans are counting the hours until the match – soon their attention will be riveted to the Santiago Bernabeu, where Barcelona will try to break their five-match losing streak against arch-rivals. The match kicks off on Sunday-Monday night at 01:00.

Real Madrid News & Current Form:

Real Madrid have a great mood and only positive vibes lately. Carlo Ancelotti‘s team tops the standings with 66 points, 10 points ahead of the second place. The Italian specialist’s side have netted resounding 59 goals, more than any other team, thanks to the efforts of the ageless Karim Benzema (top scorer in the Primera, 22 goals) and Vinicius Jr (14 goals), while conceding just 21 (only Sevilla have a better defense – missing 19 in 28 games).

The Galacticos have won five out of their last five matches, with the most beautiful victory coming against PSG. A resounding 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu and a starry Paris bid farewell to the Champions League. Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr  and Kylian Mbappe are out of action.

Last Monday the capital super club easily crushed Majorca 3-0 away. All three goals were scored by the aforementioned attacking duo.

Madrid will play El Clasico without injured defender Ferlan Mendy. Also in question is the participation of forwards Rodrygo and Karim Benzema, who must undergo a medical before the meeting in Madrid.

Barcelona News & Current Form:

Only two months had passed since the last meeting between Real Madrid and Barcelona. In the semi-final match for the Super Cup of Spain, the battle went into extra time, with Madrid winning 3-2. But much has changed in those two months. Sergio Busquets claims so, for example:

“Self-esteem, state of mind, confidence, the transfers of Aubameyang and Torres have also brought a lot,” the Barcelona midfielder shared with the press.

Indeed, Barcelona have become much better. Xavi’s team shows attractive attacking football, the same kind that many people fell in love with. And after those Super Cup matches, they have are unbeaten for 11 consecutive games.

The results of the club improved in the wake of the performance: the team gradually climbed up into the league top four with 51 points after 27 rounds played ( with 2 games in hand). Scored 52 goals and conceded 29. The Catalans strengthened well in the winter transfer window by signing Ferran Torres, Adama Traore, Pierre Aubameyang and Dani Alves, and these players are already of great benefit to the club.

Last Sunday, Barca thrashed Osasuna 4-0 at the Camp Nou, and last Thursday they made it to the Europa League quarter-finals, beating Galatasaray 1-2 in Istanbul (Los Blancos will be fresher as they had more time to prepare and rest).

Real Madrid vs Barcelona Prediction:

The Madrid side, along with Sevilla, have yet to suffer a defeat at home in La Liga. Ancelotti’s coaching staff have had almost a week to prepare for El Clasico when Barcelona have an away match against Galatasaray in the Eurocup in the middle of the week.

The favorite for the upcoming meeting is Real Madrid. The weight of responsibility has fallen off of them after passing PSG. Few believed it, but the Madrid side proved otherwise. The title race is pretty much decided, and in the remaining 2 months, the focus will be on the successful continuation of the Champions League campaign.

On the other hand, Xavi’s team have made some good progress lately and have gotten stronger since the last face-off with Real Madrid. Barcelona are currently playing some of the best football in La Liga. And both teams are very attacking-oriented which is a reason of scoring abundance – thus, we are expecting an exchange of goals.

The result of the match may be highly unpredictable, instead, we anticipate the continuation of the four-match trend, which will be reflected in our prediction.

Parimatch News staff prediction:

We say: both teams to score and the match total over 2.5 – Yes.
