After securing the signing of Ahmed Jahouh, Odisha has roped in former Goa and Mumbai City defender Mourtada Fall to reunite the duo who defend with passion, start attacks from the deep, and score crucial goals as well.

The Juggernauts have secured the defensive wall’s signature till the end of the 2024-25 Indian Super League season giving new head coach Sergio Lobera enough time to form a strong team around the overseas stars.

Fall is delighted to join Lobera and Jahouh in Odisha and said the following words after penning the two-year deal.

The towering defender said,

“I thought I should take the opportunity to announce myself. Your wall is here. Let’s go Odisha!!.”

The 2023 Super Cup Champions would be hoping to gain more silverware in the upcoming season and qualify for the playoffs for a second successive season as well. Odisha shipped in 34 goals in 21 matches in the 2022-23 ISL season, the most by any team that made it to the playoffs and the Lobera would be hoping that Fall would assume the leadership role in defense to guide the younger teammates.

Fall arrived in Goa at the start of the 2018-19 ISL season and scored 9 goals and provided 3 assists in 40 appearances helping the Gaurs win the ISL League Winners’ Shield and narrowly missing out on lifting the title as well.

After joining Lobera at Mumbai City, Fall’s attacking output reduced as he scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists in 56 ISL appearances but went on to lift even more silverware as the Islanders won the ISL League Winners’ Shield twice across the three seasons and won the coveted ISL trophy as well in the 2020-21 league season.

The winning mentality assembled by Odisha should be a scary proposition for the opposition teams as the Juggernauts prepare for a big 2023-24 ISL season.
