The majority of Pakistan players are busy in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is moved to the final stages where every team in the campaign has played 9 out of their 10 group stage matches.

The PSL is set to be concluded with the Final on February 27 where the remaining players will join the already made training camp at Karachi.

Talking about their preparations for the Test, Yousaf told that currently, they are helping the players in changing their mindset to the Test format as they last played a 4-day or 5-day match back in November.

“After playing against Bangladesh, our players haven’t had any 4-day cricket. This is why it is important for us to spend 90 overs in the ground and batters spend more time on the pitch,”

said Yousuf in a video published by the PCB.

The batting coach added that regaining the feels for the longest format of the game is necessary not for the batters only but also for the bowlers as the 5-day game is all of the patience.

“We aimed to reignite the session-by-session approach from players and for them to play according to the situation. So, when we actually play the Test match, we are not out of sync with the format,”

added the former Pakistan batter-turned coach.

It is also be noted that the PCB has called up additional players for the training camp to have enough support for batters and bowlers, which also includes recently concluded U-19 World Cup star Haseebullah Khan and other fellows.
