Vinay Kumar was named as a talent scout for Mumbai Indians

The former Indian and Mumbai Indians pacer, Vinay Kumar has been nominated as a talent scout for the franchise on Thursday, July 29.

The five-time IPL winners, Mumbai Indians franchise announced on Thursday that the former Indian Pacer Vinay Kumar has been appointed as the talent scout in their franchise.

He made his debut in international cricket in the year 2010 against Sri Lanka. A former right-arm medium pacer played 1 Test match, 31 ODIs, and 9 T20s. He announced his retirement in February this year.

He was also part of Mumbai Indians in their two winning titles, in 2015 and 2017

The second phase of the Indian Premier League will resume on September 19. Mumbai Indians are currently fourth in the table for IPL 2021.

He will work closely with the Mumbai Indians management and coaching staff, said a statement issued by the five-time IPL champions.

Parthiv Patel has also joined the “Talent Scout” of  Mumbai Indians in December 2020.

“I am delighted to have Vinay join our talent scout program. Mumbai Indians is established on strong fundamentals of discovering talent and belief in nurturing youth. I am confident Vinay will add value to our ideology and scouting strength,”

“I am honored for this opportunity to associate with Mumbai Indians again. Mumbai Indians strive for excellence in every aspect of the game, and scouting talents is undoubtedly their key strength. It’s a new chapter, and personally, I reckon it as an opportunity for me to give back to cricket,”

Vinay said.
