Pakistan medium pacer Mohammad Abbas wanted to complete a century of test wicket in the upcoming home Test series against Australia while he seemed excited to see Australia playing at Pakistan grounds.

Pakistan medium pacer Mohammad Abbas wanted to complete a century of Test wickets in the upcoming series against Australia that will begin from March 3 in Karachi.

Mohammad Abbas is now just 100 wickets away from 100 Test wickets to become the 19th Pakistan bowler who would achieve this feat. While talking to the media after training at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) in Lahore, Abbas seemed excited to see Australia playing at Pakistan venues.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had announced the schedule that the three test match series will be played in Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. The white ball series will be played in Lahore from March 29 to April 3.

“We have been playing outside our home for at least 10 years. Despite playing on the outside pitches, the performance of the Pakistan team has been excellent,”

Abbas said.

“Now that the Australian team is coming to Pakistan, it will give us a chance to play and perform in our conditions. My target will be to complete my century of wickets on Pakistani wickets. If I succeed in doing so, it will be an honor for me,”

he added.

Abbas further added that the players are preparing well for the series.

“Every country’s Test team enters the field with the best combination, we are also waiting for the arrival of the visiting team and are ready to give the best performance in the home series,”

he maintained.

“So far the media is also reporting that Australia is sending a strong team to Pakistan. It is very beneficial to our cricket when foreign teams come to Pakistan. I hope after Australia, England and New Zealand also tour Pakistan,”

he added.

Australia is ready to tour Pakistan with a full-strength squad as no player has so far expressed any hesitancy about traveling to Pakistan. Australia is coming to tour Pakistan after 24 years for all format series while the last time Australia visited Pakistan was in 1998, under Mark Taylor’s captaincy.

Now, Pakistan will have a busy schedule in the upcoming years because they will host the team Australia, New Zealand, and England in the time from March 2022 to April 2023.
