KXIP vs. DC highlights: Delhi capitals won in super over

The Delhi Capitals took off with a fine start in the IPL 2020 by beating Kings XI Punjab in Super Over. The Indian Premier League is loved because of the thrill it provides to the audience, and the DC vs. KXIP match lived upto it with some remarkable performances from both the teams.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer with 39 and Rishabh Pant with 31 runs set a firm stand, Marcus Stoinis put forward an outstanding all-rounder performance by smashing 53 runs off 21 balls and taking some crucial wickets in the last over. KL Rahul and Krishnappa Gowtham contributed 21 and 20 runs, respectively. It seemed the match was slipping away, but then Mayank Agarwal brought the score to an equalizer by smashing 89 runs off 60 balls. With only one score remaining to win, Stoinis dismissed Mayank Agarwal and Jordan off the last two balls, and the match went into super over.

With the last ball of the 20th over, the Delhi Capital and Kings XI Punjab Both ended up with similar scores(157/8), it was clear the winner would be decided with the super over.

Kagiso Rabada Shifted the face of the game in favor of Delhi Capitals in the super over. He completed the job in just three balls, giving two runs to KL Rahul on the first delivery and dismissing him on the second and knocking out Nicholas Pooran for a duck on the third delivery. Last year also Rabada bowled a fantastic super over against Kolkata Knight Riders. Well, there’s a reason he is called the ‘King of Super Over.’ With a dot ball, Shami started well but delivered a wide in the next delivery and gave away two runs on the third ball, which decided the match to be won by Delhi capitals with three balls to spare.
