Indian women’s team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur breaks the biggest milestone of MS Dhoni to record most T20Is victory as a skipper.

The Indian women’s cricket team convincingly beat Pakistan in the Group A match of the ongoing Commonwealth Games on Sunday at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian side defeated Pakistan by eight wickets and 38 balls to spare after they chased down a below-average total of 100. 

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur breaks the biggest milestone of MS Dhoni to record most T20Is victory as a skipper.

Leading in 71 matches for India, Harmanpreet secured 42 victories and 26 losses while three matches ended with no result. On the other hand, MS Dhoni has led India in 72 matches, taking 41 wins and 28 losses. One match ended as a tie while the other two were no results.

Virat Kohli has led India in 50 matches and secured 30 wins and 16 losses. Two matches ended as a tie and the other two were no results.

In the match played between Pakistan and India in the ongoing Commonwealth Games, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. The women in green bundled out on 99 after the match got reduced to 18 overs on each side following rain interruption.

For India, Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav returned with two wickets.

Chasing 100 was a kid’s play for India as Smriti Mandhana played an unbeaten knock of 63 runs off just 42 balls followed by 8 boundaries and 3 maximums to guide her side across the line and give their Net Run Rate a major boost.

“Indian players and batters have developed and gained confidence because of opportunities to play in the leagues, which is not the case with our players,”

Maroof said after Pakistan’s eight-wicket defeat which has put them on the brink of elimination in the Commonwealth Games

Maroof is lying about the hopes of Women’s PSL, something that the PCB chairman Ramiz Raja has proposed to help Pakistan on that front.

“We are expecting [the women’s PSL to be launched] next year, that is the plan. Hopefully, it materializes and helps our bench strength.”

Indian women will take on Barbados on Wednesday, with the match scheduled to begin at 10:30 PM IST.

India Women 102 for 2 (Mandhana 63*) beat Pakistan Women 99 (Muneeba 32, Rana 2-15, Radha 2-18) by eight wickets.
