Bangladesh awaits inexperienced Ireland on their return to Test cricket
Ireland’s Test team includes nine players without any experience. First-class cricket has never been played by three of them. They only have four survivors from their most recent test, which took place in 2019.
Bangladesh, who have 473 caps in their Test team, are in opposition against them. The Dhaka Test might be a competitive match because they were also extremely dominating in the white-ball leg of the series in Sylhet and Chattogram.
Yet, Ireland should feel more confident after the seven-wicket victory in the final T20I in Chattogram. They achieved their first victory of the tour because to improved batting, bowling, and fielding.
Paul Stirling, one of the show’s prominent stars, has returned home because he is not a member of the Test team. but after having a break from the T20Is, they will have regular captain Andy Balbirnie back at the helm.
PJ Moor, a former Zimbabwe wicketkeeper-batter who is currently an Ireland cricketer, is another member of the Ireland party. He has participated in eight Test games.
Throughout all these years, Ireland has only played three games. He has previously played in Bangladesh. In 2018, he took his final test in Dhaka as well.
With Graham Hume, Fionn Hand, and Thomas Mayes providing the pace, Mark Adair will be the bowling attack’s captain. The team’s most seasoned spinner is left-arm spinner Matthew Humphreys, who also has strong T20I performance, and legspinner Ben White, who was impressive in the T20Is.
This match will allow Ireland the opportunity to adjust to the surroundings and develop their style of Test cricket before their next two matches, which will be in Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh were at full strength when Taskin Ahmed’s side strain was unexpectedly announced to be a questionable injury.
“Taskin underwent an MRI today which confirmed that he has a left side strain (grade 2), ” national team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said. “Such injuries take about four weeks to recover from.” There is also uncertainty surrounding Tamim Iqbal’s availability. *
The leadership team is made up of Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das, and Ebadot Hossain has rejoined the squad after missing the December Tests against India.
After a good Test debut, Zakir Hasan’s absence due to a left thumb injury is a major loss. In his place, Shadman Islam has returned.
The top and middle order will be connected by Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mominul Haque, and Shakib, with Tamim at the top and Mushfiqur Rahim coming in after that. Mahmudul Hasan Joy or Shadman will be Tamim’s partner, though?
Bangladesh (probable): 1 Tamim Iqbal/Shadman Islam, 2 Mahmudul Hasan Joy, 3 Najmul Hossain Shanto, 4 Mominul Haque, 5 Shakib Al Hasan (capt), 6 Mushfiqur Rahim, 7 Litton Das (wk), 8 Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 9 Taijul Islam, 10 Khaled Ahmed, 11 Ebadot Hossain
