Pakistan and India are set to face each other on August 28 for Asia Cup 2022

During his presence on media, Babar Azam was asked by a journalist if there is any pressure on Pakistan given that they are going to face India in the Asia Cup 2022 and the Pakistan skipper replied in confidence.

We all know and we all witness that Pakistan-India clashes are the most awaited in the field of cricket. However, fans do not get a chance to witness the matches on regular basis due to political disturbance from both sides and the two rivals haven’t featured in any bilateral series since 2013.

In such a case, they only face each other on multi-team events and fans finally get a chance to cheer their respective team in high value.

The decreased number of matches between both sides in the last decade has further increased the importance of the face-off between the arch-rivals.

Apart from that, pressure on players of both sides is always high when they stand against each other and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam admitted the fact.

During his presence on media, Babar Azam was asked by a journalist if there is any pressure on Pakistan given that they are most probably going to face India in three matches in the Asia Cup 2022 and the Pakistan skipper replied in confidence.

“Look, what we try is to play it like a normal match only. Yes, obviously the pressure is different. But like we did in (T20) World Cup 2021 that is to focus on our game and believe in the team and ourselves. This time too we are going to give our best. An effort is in our hands but the result is not,”

Babar said in a video shared by Pakistan Cricket.

It is also to be noted that Pakistan-India is going to face each other on August 28 in Dubai. Meanwhile, in the Super-4 stage, teams will see each other playing in a round-robin format.

India is likely to face Pakistan in the second round as both opponents seem to make cut. If both qualify for the final, then it will be India and Pakistan again for the third time in the tournament.
