Axar Rajeshbhai Patel
Axar Rajeshbhai Patel is an Indian cricketer who represents the country at the international level. He plays as an all-rounder for Gujrat and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League at the domestic level. Axar is a left-handed batsman and bowls left-arm orthodox.
He made his debut in the Ranji Trophy season of 2012 and played only one match. But he performed exceptionally in the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy season by scoring 369 runs and taking 29 wickets in seven matches for Gujrat. In 2013, due to his best performances in Ranji Trophy, the Indian Premier League team, Mumbai Indians signed Patel. After a year, Axar was picked by Kings XI Punjab, and he proved his worth by taking a hat-trick for the franchise against Gujrat Lions in IPL 2016.
After being a consistent performer of Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals snapped Axar for a whopping amount of INR 5 crore for IPL 2019. He was later retained by the Delhi franchise for the IPL 2020. After performing exceptionally in IPL 2014, Patel earned his place in the Indian ODI squad to tour Bangladesh. He made his T20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe on 17 July 2015.
Patel never wanted to become a cricketer; instead, wanted to become a mechanical engineer. When he was 15, his friend noticed his cricketing talent and suggested him to play the game.
