Romelu Lukaku Biography

Romelu Lukaku was born on 13 May 1993 in Antwerp, Belgium to Congolese parents. His father was a former international footballer with Zaire. Football was in his blood. He spent five years playing at Boom before heading to Lierse. His legend rose in youth football as Lukaku scored 121 goals in 68 matches in Lier before hitting 131 in 93 matches for Anderlecht in three seasons. Such figures saw him move up to the first team at the age of just 16. He won one league title and a Belgian Super Cup before joining Chelsea in 2011.

England would be where he matured and developed further as a player. First at Chelsea, then West Bromwich Albion and Everton. In Liverpool, he really established himself with 87 goals in 166 appearances. In 2017, he joined Manchester United, where he would feature 96 times and score 42 goals. Furthermore, he’s hit double figures in each of the last seven seasons. In the meantime, he also became the top scorer in Belgium’s history with 48 goals in 81 International appearances, and he was also in the side that finished third at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
