Biography

Parthiv Patel was born on 9 March 1985 in Ahmedabad Gujrat. After playing first-class cricket from Gujrat, he became the youngest wicketkeeper to feature in the Test Match. Sourav Ganguly supported the wicketkeeper-batsman during the early 2000s when the Indian cricket team was looking for new talents.

Patel made his first-class debut against Haryana in 2000. Due to his tremendous batting skills, the player quickly secured his place in the Indian cricket team. In the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League, a left-handed batsman played for Chennai Super Kings. After playing with CSK for three seasons, Patel was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013 and Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014.

In 2015, the aggressive batsman played for Mumbai Indians as an opening batsman. Patel is playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020. He made its ODI debut against New Zealand in January 2003. The players missed his high-school board examination for the 2003 Cricket World Cup, which shows his eternal love towards the game.

Parthiv was the youngest wicketkeeper in Test history at 17 years of age. The 35-years old wicketkeeper-batsman once sledded Steve Waugh by saying, “Come on, Steve, just one more of your popular slog-sweeps before you quit.” On which Steve gave him a tough reply by saying, “Show a bit of respect. You were in nappies when I debuted 18 years ago.”
