According to a rumour, Amitaabh Bachchan and Rekha were about to be cast in Ram Balram by producer Tito Tony. Jaya Bachchan was clearly not happy about it; she recommended producer Tito Tony to cast Zeenat Aman for the film opposite Amitabh Bachchan. However, Rekha couldn’t take it when she came to know about being replaced hence she directly approached director Vijay Anand to convince him. At that time, Rekha was the most sought after actress, and hence, when a star like Rekha approached a director for work, he could not refuse. At the same time Rekha gave the producer Tito Tony an amazing offer that he couldn’t refuse by agreeing to do the film for free. Hence, she was cast and the shooting began, with Zeenat Aman being paired opposite Dharmendra, while Rekha was cast opposite Amitabh just as she wanted. Jaya Bachchan was apparently very angry and tried convincing Big B to reject the movie, but as per reports, he didn’t even consider it.
Because of this, Jaya Bachchan paid a visit to the sets and saw Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan speaking in private. She couldn’t control her anger and in the heat of the moment, went in front of the two and slapped Rekha. The entire cast and crew of the film was shocked to see this and Amitabh Bachchan didn’t wait for the shoot to complete for even a moment.
We all know that Big B & Rekha had an amazing chemistry on screen & fans always wanted them to be together but Mr. Bachchan was already married to Jaya Bachchan & that’s the reason Mrs. Bachchan tried really hard to keep her husband away from the most beautiful actress of the Industry.
