When it comes to real cinema & method acting in bollywood, Manoj Bajpayee has always remained on the top of the list. Not only he has proven time & again that he is a brilliant actor, but he has also proven to his audience that he can take any kind of acting challenge which comes his way.
This time he hits a hat-trick of bagging the prestigious National Award as he has won his third ‘Best Actor (Male)’ award for his much-acclaimed movie ‘Bhonsle’. Manoj has won his first National Award for Satya, and Special Jury Award for his feature film Pinjar and now bags National Film Award for Bhonsle.
He is currently quarantine & recovering from Covid, but he was available to talk & said
“I am feeling so happy, not only for myself, but also for my director Devashish Makhija, who has put all his beliefs and energy into it. I also feel thankful to Sandiip Kapoor, Piiyush Singh, and all the producers who have put in their energy and support in making this film. Also to each and everyone in the jury who thought if fit to give me this award.”
Manoj’s some of the most brilliant performances in movies like Gangs of Wasseypur (2011) and the 2016 drama Aligarh failed to find any mention at the National Awards despite the industry and fans calling them his career best. Manoj Bajpayee, who hails from Belwa village in West Champaran, Bihar, now looks back at the misses and the big hit that he has scored with Bhonsle with a sense of gratification.
“I always had the belief that one day there will be a time that God will give me a second look. He will turn back and recognise the efforts I’ve been making all of these years. He will gift me the honour for something I’ll do,”
he added.
The actor will be soon seen in the much-anticipated crime feature drama titled ‘Silence… Can You Hear It?, which will premiere on March 26 on Zee 5. Apart from this, season two of his Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK directorial hit web series ‘The Family Man’ is also in the pipeline.
