After winning the U-17 Subroto Cup with his home state Mizoram, Lalruatthara was picked by newly promoted I-league team Aizawl FC in 2015 and sent on loan to Delhi Dynamos for the 2016 ISL season, he was drafted into the Kerala Blasters FC squad ahead of the ISL 2017-18 season. He managed 85 tackles – the most by any Indian player that season, and also won the Emerging Player of the Season award.
