The Patna Pirates took on U Mumba in ‘Match 103’ of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 as the two sides tussled for the taste of victory. The Pirates came hot into the game with three consecutive wins in their previous games and extended their winning streak to four games with a dominating win over their opponents tonight. While the Patna-based franchise seemed a little off in defense, the raiders were the star of the show as they led their side past the finish line.

Sachin Tawar and Guman Singh were on fire against the Mumbai-based franchise as the duo racked up a total of twenty-seven points to their name, scoring the majority of the points scored by the Pirates tonight. The two raiders were supported by Neeraj Kumar in defense as the defender picked up a total of three points to his name. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh who has been stunning for the team this season, seemed a little off tonight and had to settle with just two points to his name at the end of the final whistle.

On the other hand, U Mumba will be disappointed with how the night turned out for the franchise tonight as they tried their best to keep the score difference under seven points to settle with one point but could not manage to make a dent into the Pirate’s defense. Both Abhishek Singh and V Ajith Kumar had a brilliant outing against the best defense in the league as the duo picked up a total of twenty-four points to their name but did not receive any support from their defenders apart from Rinku who had four tackle points to his name.

The game started off with a quick start as both the teams went back and forth in an attempt to outscore their opponents. The Pirates found the upper hand in the game as Sachin and Guman kept picking up the U Mumba defenders one after the other to put them in a precarious position. The Mumbai-based franchise tried to fire back with their raider as Patna looked disorganized in their defense.

Both the teams tried to gain an advantage over their opponents, but the Pirates inflicted the first all out of the game upon their opponents in the closing minutes of the first half to create a big difference heading into the second half of the game.

The Pirates built on their momentum built in the first half as they kept U Mumba under check and did not allow them to score a lot of points to make a dent in their lead. It was definite by the closing moments of the game that U Mumba had lost all hopes for a comeback and was looking for a single point on the table. However, Sachin turned the table on the opponents as he scored a Super Raid in the closing seconds of the game to give his side an 11-point win over their opponents.

Patna is now firmly positioned at the top of the table with 65 points to their name in seventeen games so far in the tournament, the side will look to rack a couple of wins in their remaining five fixtures to confirm their entry into the playoffs. The side will surely look to finish at the top two slots to gain a direct entry into the semi-finals.

On the other hand, U Mumba is now desperate for wins if they need to find themselves in the playoffs. The franchise had 48 points to their name in seventeen games and will have to win their upcoming fixtures if they wish to stay alive in the race for playoffs. The team will face the U.P Yoddha in their upcoming fixture this Saturday and will look to get back on winning ways.
