Jaipur Pink Panthers put a brake on Patna’s six-match unbeaten run here tonight in the 53rd game of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8. The Pink Panthers were all over the Patna Pirates from the first half and were able to maintain their lead in the final moments picking up a ten-point victory over the table-toppers.

This was Jaipur’s fifth win this season in their nine games. Deepak Niwas Hooda was stellar for his side as he picked up a super ten and ensured that his side secured five points at the league table. With their win over Patna, Jaipur will now move up to the fourth position on the points table with 28 points to their tally in 9 games.

Meanwhile, Patna Pirates had a very disappointing game tonight as their defensive unit made far too many errors, which they ultimately paid the price for. The best defensive side in the league could only manage four tackle points in the entire game and had fifteen failed tackles against the Pink Panthers. Goyat was the best player for the Pirates tonight as the experienced raider picked up seven points for his side.

The game started slow with both sides taking up a cautious approach and both sides were even at 8-8 in the first ten minutes of the game. Jaipur Pink Panthers were the first side to pick up a tackle point after thirteen minutes into the game as Shaul Kumar managed to get hold of Sachin in a do-or-die raid.

Riding on the momentum, the Pink Panther raiders were able to put Patna on the brink of an all-out in the closing minutes of the first half, and the defenders finished up the job securing the all-out in the 19th minute.

Leading by six points at the start of the second half, the Pink Panthers were able to keep both Monu Goyat and Prashant Kumar Rai in check, making sure to clip all chances of a comeback later in the game.  Arjun Deshwal and Hooda meanwhile added more to their worries as the duo picked up points at regular intervals and gave Patna their second all-out of the game in the final five minutes of the game.

Mohammadreza Chiyameh and Chandrasekhar Sajin who has been rock-solid for the Pirates in defense so far this season had a very disappointing night as the duo could only pick up two points altogether, both belonging to the Iranian corner.

Jaipur Pink Panthers will be high on momentum with their win over the Pirates tonight and will be full of confidence as they approach their next clash with the Tamil Thalaivas.

On the other hand, The Pirates will have to shake off the defeat at the hands of their opponents and get in gear for their upcoming fixture against the Bengaluru Bulls in a battle for the apex position at the league table.
