Maninder Singh gets past the defenders to score a point against the Telugu Titans

The Bengal Warriors took on Telugu Titans in Match No. 61 of the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League Season 8. Star raider Maninder Singh put on a show for the Warriors and Bengal used a fine strategic move to beat the Titans by a solitary point at the end of the final whistle despite the fact that Telugu Titans had the lead for the majority of the game.

Maninder was the key contributor as the Bengal Warriors raider picked up a super ten, scoring ten raid points to give his side a much-needed win. On the other hand, Rajnish also picked a super ten for Telugu Titans, scoring eleven raid points on the night.

Ran Singh showed his defensive prowess with four tackle points for the Bengal Warriors, as he was just a point away from picking up a high five. Amit, with two tackle points, and Sukesh Hegde with five raid points also made crucial contributions in a closely fought win for Bengal.

The Telugu Titans crashed to their eighth defeat and will be disappointed to not have pulled off a win tonight despite leading for a majority time in the game until the very end. The Titans picked up more tackle points than their opponents but conceded an all-out in the final minutes of the contest that cost them the win.

Sandeep Kandola gave his best efforts as he picked up 4 tackle points and was supported by Akash Choudhary who picked up 3 tackle points. Ankit Beniwal could not play to his potential as he only managed to score three raid points in the entire match.

Rajnish could not get a lot of support from the raiding department, which cost the Telugu Titans. They have now lost six consecutive games and have a lot of thinking to do going forward in the tournament and the rest of the raiders need to step up if they are to win games.

Bengal Warriors took a two-point lead in the first two minutes of the match, gaining a raid and a tackle point each courtesy of Maninder and Ran. However, the Titans soon came back to level the scores in the fourth minute. The game was neck-to-neck till the 19th minute in the first half with the scores level 13-13. The Bengal Warriors managed to take a slender one-point lead at the end of the first half.

The first five minutes of the next half were all about the Titans as they added seven points to their kitty to gain a five-point lead over the Warriors. Bengal then fought back as they scored a super tackle while Maninder brought in the raid points to cut down the lead.

The game remained to be in balance with the score level on 24-24 in the 38th minute. Bengal then inflicted the all-out on the Titans courtesy of Ran Singh’s dive that brought Rajnish down. Maninder then scored a bonus to give Bengal a three-point lead with only a minute to play. The Warriors managed to hold their nerves to win the game by one point in the end.

With this win, the Bengal Warriors take the seventh spot with 30 points from eleven games while the Telugu Titans continue to languish at the bottom of the table. The Warriors face UP Yoddha next while the Titans meet Jaipur Pink Panthers with a hope to register their maiden win of the season.
