Mohammedan SC sign Philip Adjah

Mohammedan SC has resigned the 22-year old Ghanian forward Philip Adjah ahead of the 2020-21 season of the I-League.

The Black Panthers have been preparing hard for the upcoming season of the I-League after qualifying for the coveted tournament after a period of 7 years. Since appointing Jose Hevia as their head coach, the club has been signing players left and right to make up a strong squad and challenge the likes of Gokulam Kerala FC, Chennai City FC, and Real Kashmir FC for the I-League title.

Mohammedan has re-signed Philip Adjah after his one-year stay with the club. The club signed Adjah ahead of the 2018-19 I-League 2nd division season and the Ghanian centre-forward top-scored in the league with 10 goals but the club missed out on a playoff spot to TRAU FC by a single point.

Since then Adjah has represented Calcutta Customs, NEROCA FC, and Bhawanipore FC in the recently concluded I-League qualifiers.

Mohammedan SC making big strides ahead of their biggest season in a long time

The Black Panthers have appointed Jose Hevia after parting ways with head coach Yan Law in the midst of the 2020 I-League qualifiers.

Since then, the club has signed excellent talent from African nations including the 27-year old Ghanian defensive midfielder Mohammed Fatau and the 27-year old Nigerian forward Raphael Odoyin Onwrebe. Now, the signing of Philip Adjah signals an end to the foreign signings with the rumors of Nigerian centre-back Kingsley Obumneme extending his contract making the rounds.

The club has also been signing experienced Indian defenders with former Mohun Bagan right-back Arijit Bagui and the former East Bengal left-back Manoj Mohammed adding squad depth in crucial positions of the football pitch.
