Former FC Goa midfielder Ahmed Jahouh joins Mumbai City FC on a two-year deal

On Thursday, Mumbai City FC announced the signing of Moroccan midfielder Ahmed Jahouh. The former FC Goa player made his way towards Mumbai City FC, penning a two-year term contract. Ahmed has significant experience playing in the Indian Super League and is set to play with the Islander for the upcoming ISL season 2020-21.

Ahmed helped FC Goa win the 2019-20 ISL League Shield and the 2019 Super Cup.

The new season of the Indian Super League (ISL) is just a few weeks away now, and the transfer window is also closing soon. Mumbai City FC roped in Ahmed Jahouh and is confident about him coming on board.

Ahmed Jahouh is a native of Al Araoui, Morocco, and he made his debut with Ittihad Khemisset. In 2010 he moved to Moghreb Tétouan and won two league titles from the five seasons he played with them, and he played under then-coach Sergio Lobera in the last season. In 2017 Ahmed joined FC Goa and played under Sergio Lobera for three years, who was their head coach at that time. He made 56 appearances for FC Goa and helped them win the ISL League Shield 2019-20 and the 2019 Super Cup.

The 32-year-old feels honored to be a part of Mumbai City FC and play among the country’s best players, said Ahmed. The Moroccan midfielder has spent three years in the ISL, and he believes that he still has a lot to achieve. He was convinced that Mumbai City FC is where he wants to be after speaking to the management about its vision.

The Mumbai City FC’s new head coach Sergio Lobera remarked that Ahmed is a player who can control the game, and he is an exceptional player. The coach, having worked with him before, is assured that he can make a difference.

Sergio Lobera said he is delighted to have Ahmed in the cub. He is an experienced player and will fit perfectly with the extremely talented squad the club is building, Sergio concluded.
