Nongdamba Naorem has joined ATK Mohun Bagan FC from Kerala Blasters FC in a loan deal till the end of the 2020-21 Indian Super League season with forward Subha Ghosh going the other way in a swap deal.

Naorem came through the Minerva academy and finally established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet at Mohun Bagan during the 2019-20 I-League season. The left-sided midfielder made 16 appearances and provided 5 assists along with scoring a couple of goals in the title-winning season for the Green and Maroons.

The Mohun Bagan fans will be delighted on the move as the 20-year old was one of the fan favorites amongst the Green and Maroon faithful. With Michael Soosairaj ruled out for the remainder of the season, Naorem would prove to be the perfect alternative to fill in for him with Subasish Bose too defensive-minded for the role.

The 20-year old was being eyed upon by Antonio Lopez Habas at the start of the season but with Soosairaj and Bose playing on the left side, Naorem was allowed to re-join Kibu Vicuna at Kerala Blasters FC. He made three appearances for the Blasters this season but failed to make a goal contribution and would be looking to change that with potent strikers like Roy Krishna, David Williams, and Manvir Singh supporting him in attack at his new club.

The young and energetic forward Subha Ghosh has re-joined his mentor Kibu Vicuna at Kerala Blasters FC. The 20-year old was also part of the title-winning campaign during the 2019-20 I-League season with Mohun Bagan as he was promoted by Vicuna to the senior squad.

Ghosh made 8 appearances from the bench and scored 3 crucial goals proving himself as an excellent super-sub. The Kolkata-born forward might play the same role with the Yellow Army with the Blasters currently struggling for goals.

Ghosh was delighted on joining his old mentor at the Blasters and said,

“It’s a new beginning for me. I have got a new family now and I want to serve Kerala Blasters right. I know what I have come here to do, I want to score goals and win matches. I am thankful to the Kerala Blasters management and most importantly Kibu Sir for giving me this opportunity. I want to get going from the word go. I wish to entertain the amazing fans and look to your love and support.
