#1 Meet Your Maker

We are no strangers when it comes to the post-apocalyptic setting, with The Last of Us, Stray and Mad Max paving the way for Meet Your Maker this year. Launching on the 4th of April, you get to engage in battles and raids to ensure survival against animatronic alien forms of life in this game.

From the creators of Dead By Daylight, Behaviour Interactive Inc. brings you a game that is all about protecting your genetic material (Genmat). In this block-based, first-person game you need to utilize a range of blocks, traps and guards to create 

Outposts that serve as deadly mazes to safeguard your Genmat and eliminate unauthorised trespassers who make their way to your base. If you fail to do so, as the name suggests, you will “Meet Your Maker”. The game will be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

#2 Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection

The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is for all the fans of the MegaMan series that premiered in 2001. This tactical RPG series includes all 10 of the mainline battle network games. 

The players have to take charge of the revered MegaMan, NetNavi and Lan Hikari as they navigate a grid-based, side-by-side combat system. It is set in a world where a distinct cyber network is indispensable to civilization, but it is surrounded by enemies, determined to destroy it. 

By upgrading weapons, acquiring new abilities and building connections, players can enhance their powers and defend the cyber network against any threats. Developed and published by Capcom, this real-time data action RPG is set to release on 14th April 2023.

#3 Minecraft Legends

The Legends are back!

Developed by Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive, Minecraft Legends is the new spin-off of Minecraft. An action-strategy video game, it will be released for Nintendo Switch, PS 4,5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on April 18th, 2023.

Played from a third-person perspective, this game includes co-op and competitive multiplayer features to give the users an all-encompassing experience.

It takes place in the Minecraft universe and is set during the invasion of the piglets from the Nether. The players need to bring their banner to save the Overworld as the Nether spreads its corruption throughout this universe and ultimately, emerge champions of their turf.

#4 The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story

Releasing on April 18th, 2023 as well, is The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story. From the creators of Moonlighters, comes this action RPG that takes place in the same universe as the League of Legends. 

The Mageseekers in the kingdom of Demacia hold immense power. Be it inducting or indoctrinating, the Mageseekers hold the authority to oppress citizens who use magic, by locking them up or driving them into hiding.

As Sylas, you play the mage who steals spells and liberates the people of the land, by commanding magic, raising rebellions and forging a legacy, one Mageseeker at a time. Developed by Digital Sun, the game is set to release for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

#5 Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly

Coffee Talk: Episode 2, just like the name suggests, takes place in a cafe that has interesting characters making a visit every now and then.

Playing the role of a barista, the coffee shop has a diverse number of guests in the form of mythological creatures and humans who come to you for advice, or just be a sounding board sometimes.

This game is for those who are looking to have a relaxed experience, enjoy interacting with odd personalities and enjoy coffee, all the while listening to lo-fi beats. Developed and published by Toge Productions, this game will be released on April 20th, 2023 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and Switch.

#6 Dead Island 2

The third instalment in the well-received Dead Island series.

Set about 10 years after the events of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, Dead Island 2 promises horror, everybody’s favourite: Zombies, dark humour and a whole lot more!

This upcoming first-person action RPG is set in the city of Los Angeles and San Francisco which has been quarantined because of the latest zombie outbreak, which is way stronger than its predecessors.

In this sequel, Dead Island 2 introduces distinct combat mechanics compared to its previous versions while retaining familiar elements like the “rage” and crafting systems. Scheduled to be released on April 21st, 2023, the game is developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver for PS 4, PS 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

#7 Afterimage

From the world of Engardin, comes this Metroidvania, which is a hand-drawn 2-D action adventure that lets you explore gripping storylines and non-linear levels in a fantasy world.

Smashing through their Kickstarter goal last April, Afterimage is developed by Aurogon Shanghai and now coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC.

If you enjoy stunning, hand-drawn visuals, soft colours, beautiful character art and breathtaking locations, Afterimage is the game you need to watch out for.

#8 Star Wars: Survivor

The most-awaited sequel of the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is almost here and our hero, Cal Kestis has been through quite a few lifetime’s worth of pain. From the events of Order 66, Tapal’s death and life on the run, not only has Cal taken the fight to the Empire, he has attempted to rebuild the Jedi Order.

Respawn Entertainment and EA are back with more than new lightsaber fighting styles incorporated, and an untamed galaxy to own. The trailer reveals the growth of the characters from the Jedi: Fallen Order, and continues the narrative arc established in Jedi: Battle Scars. Cal initially appears separated from his former allies to fight for his land in a land of growing weary of hope. The much-awaited game is set to release on April 28, 2023, for PS 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
